Okona is a web platform for multiplayer games that turns any smartphone into a game controller. No apps to download, no extra hardware to buy. Just open a game on your computer, scan the QR code with your phone, and start playing — instantly.
Visit the game catalog on your computer or smart TV and pick any game. It loads right in your browser — no installs needed.
A QR code appears on screen. Point your phone camera at it to connect — no app required. Your phone's browser becomes your controller.
Up to six players can join the same game, each with their own phone controller. Invite friends by sharing the QR code — everyone joins in seconds.

Okona was built around a simple idea: playing games together should be effortless. Traditional local multiplayer requires everyone to own the right hardware — extra controllers, specific consoles, compatible software. We wanted to eliminate all of that friction and make shared gaming as easy as sharing a link.
Every game on Okona runs as a Unity WebGL application directly in the browser. There is nothing to download or install on the host machine. Players connect their phones by scanning a QR code, and the phone's touchscreen becomes a full game controller with a virtual D-pad, action buttons, and analog input. The connection happens over WebSockets through our relay server, keeping input fast and responsive.
Whether you are hosting a game night with friends, running a party, or just looking for something to play together on the couch, Okona gets everyone into the game in seconds — not minutes.
Okona is an open platform for Unity developers who want to reach players without the friction of app stores or hardware requirements. Our OkonaPad SDK integrates directly into your Unity project — just import the package, read controller input like you would any gamepad, and publish. We handle the networking, the phone controllers, the hosting, and the player connections. You focus on making a great game.
