Okona is a catalog of phone-controlled multiplayer games, played on a shared screen: a TV, a laptop, a projector. Up to six players scan a QR code and their phones become the gamepads: no apps, no servers, no netcode. Build your game in Unity or any HTML5 engine (including a game an AI helped you write) and submit it. We play every game before it goes into the catalog.
Developer accounts are free, by invitation or request.
Create your game in Unity with the OkonaPad SDK, or in any HTML5 engine with a one-script JavaScript SDK. Your input code just works: phones show up as standard gamepads.
Upload from the developer portal (or the okona CLI) and play-test in your private sandbox with real phones as the controllers. Nobody else sees it.
Submit the game for review. We play it and either approve it or send it back with exactly what to change. Updates go through the same review while the version players have keeps running.
Approved games go into the Okona catalog, where players browse and play them with their phones. Builds, the global CDN and the controller relay are handled for you.
Built into every game
Players bring any USB or Bluetooth gamepad, or scan the QR code on the screen and play from their own phones, and the Okona app keeps everyone connected from game to game. Up to six players, nothing to install.
Build storage, a global CDN and the controller relay: nothing to run, nothing to configure.
Impressions, play sessions and controller joins per game, in your dashboard.
Players join and leave mid-game; your input code just works through the OkonaPad SDK (Unity) or the JavaScript SDK (HTML5).
